Safer STEM will continue the discussion about responsible chemical management in Florida schools and the impact that science supervisors have over programs, equity, and safety for educators and students.  Exploring the benefits of conducting a comprehensive hazard analysis and risk assessment prior to hands-on demos and student experiments.  Strategies to make school STEM and Science programs safer and empowering educators to make safer decisions for their students will be provided for the elementary, middle and high schools in Florida. Review of the legal obligations for school districts in Florida regarding risk management and compliance. Science Supervisors from across Florida will learn how to evaluate their existing safety plans and PD and how to enhance them to align with OSHA CFR29 1910.1450 which applies to science departments in schools across the state.
