Description
Your Virtual CHO will:
- Audit safety levels across the district, including policies, documents, training, and storage facilities.
- Provide on-demand support when questions arise.
- Identify and mitigate chemical issues.
- Ensure that your school district meets OSHA CFR 29 1910.1450 and 1910.1200 safety standards.
- Review existing safety operating procedures and make suggestions for enhancement.
- Review safety equipment, engineering controls, and appropriate PPE is in good condition.
- Review chemical inventories.
- Advise on proper storage, handling, procurement, and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
- Guide the school in naming and training a school-based CHO if one has not been identified. Note: If no CHO has been named by the school, then the CHO title defaults to the superintendent, and this person is held responsible for all safety and accident-related issues that happen throughout their school district.
- Establish a safety roadmap at school and district levels that includes scheduled training and comprehensive physical safety inspections.
- Collaborate with school-based CHOs on safety-related issues, and documents (e.g., Chemical Hygiene Plan, Hazard Communication Standard).
